North America | United States of America (USA) | South West | Nevada | Las Vegas – First Trip To Las Vegas
I never dreamed that one of my first trips in the United States would be to Las Vegas. I have long taken the city for granted -just waiting and assuming I will go someday and it will be inexpensive. I finally reached the point where it was silly not to go. My friend wanted to return to the city of cards and sports betting and I decided to go along.
I stayed at the New Frontier in the Atrium Tower Suites. The hotel and casino is nothing to write home about, but it was affordable, on the strip and the suite was nicely sized. The one benefit I found to staying in a modest hotel on the strip is the service you can recieve when you give even small tips. We had restaurant waiters and cocktail waitress tripping overeach other to serve us food and free drinks each day. We could have never stood out at all in a big name casino or hotel.
I enjoyed Las Vegas for the reason that practically everyone you pass on the street is a tourist. There are no people walking down the strip to their condo. People just don’t live there and that makes it feel different. I have always enjoyed the feel of travelers all around me.
Las Vegas is a city I would go back to. The fact that I can find insanely cheap air and hotel packages makes it more attractive, but there are real reasons to go again. I am not one to really gamble, but it can be fun in moderation in Las Vegas. Sliding small coins into a video poker machine is almost exciting in Las Vegas because it would take far too long to loose any real money and there are nice ladies bringing you free drinks. It is just a different and relaxing place to be.
This is a place that I could vacation. I usually prefer to travel and not vacation. Las Vegas is a city that I wouldn’t mind vacationing in. I could just relax and not worry about missing something or not seeing something before I depart.
