Europe | United Kingdom (UK), Great Britain | Scotland | Edinburgh – Readjusting
The adventure is over 🙁
I’ve been back in the UK a week now and I’m starting to get the hang of things again. I’ve remembered which way to look when crossing the road and I have reacquainted myself with the taste of british beer. I’ve been shivering constantly since I arrived. It feels like the UK has now moved into the Arctic Circle. (And they keep telling me it’s mild for this time of the year!) I also go back to my old job in Edinburgh tomorrow, which is going to take some getting used to.
The city doesn’t seem to have missed me at all, not a lot has changed while I’ve been away – there’s a few new shops and some of the pubs have had a bit of a makeover – but nothing has changed as much as me. I’m sure after a couple of weeks it will almost feel like I never left but there will always be reminders such as an email from one of my Peruvian friends or the spark of a memory from my travels and of course there will always be a part of me that is eager to get back there and discover some more about that faraway country.
..and my diary will not end here, I’ve still got to develop and scan my photos and there’s still a few stories that I need to add when I get the chance.
