Europe | Turkey | Antalya – Rafting in Five Mansions National Park
Hi everyone.I know it’s the 31th of August. But I’ll write with the date of 20th, because my rafting is dated this time. I’m a little bit late:)but I had problems in work, and I was so tired that I couldn’t take time to write.
Last night I went to Antalya at 9pm to meet Su (one of my best friends, one of the few people having the heart and the soul unlimitedly open to me) ,her two friends Melanie and Steve from Paris, and the brother of Su’s boyfriend(Isik). We passed the night to talk simply. And we were asleep at 3A.M .
And our rafting day started funny with Isik thinking that to take the bus at 9.30 it was too early to wake up at 8.45.
The road took about 3hrs. It was strange because I was remembering fewer from the last time I did rafting at the same place. Anyway there was no problem as the way to Five Mansions Valley were full of beautiful views. We were first in Antalya, then beetween the fields ,on the Taurus Mountains with forests or naked hills..
I have to say that the tourism agency who arranged the trip wasn’t professional in anything. But it’s normal because it was the cheapest one. My life jacket older me, no helmet, 13 persons on one boat;at least it would be adventurous… But the truth is that I was getting angry, especially when the guide told me ” anyway you won’t fall from the boat”. Hmmmmm.
And the worse was that to see the water brown! It’s rained the days before and that was the result. Especially Su was decouraged by the mud.
The stream is traversing all the valley which is a National Park. To get there you can pass also by a Romain bridge dating of the 2nd Century. Today only little vehicles are allowed there but we went there by walk to see the bridge. In a small lagoon with a fountain we stopped to take photos and to swim for just 5 minutes, which was enough for us to understand how people could get frozen in water!
Anyway once we were in the water we forgot everything, rowed and enjoyed. All boats trying to be the first and to let the cold water in other boats. We had lunch in the meanwhile and then finished the 13km.
Feeling the team (and the water) was great. We really had great time.
And once again I thought I could pass my life in water. My english isn’t enough to explain all but I wish to have given to you an impression at least.
Then what? We bought some photos taken in the boat, took the bus, going out in the night to visit Kaleiçi in Antalya and went back home. This was a beautiful day, that I’m very glad of having lived. It gave me strength to come back to job and now it gives me the idea that I’m not spending my time for nothing here.
What would I do next time?
I’d find another agency more professional, (or maybe would do it alone with my friends), would try kayaking too and would give more attention to the meteorology.
What do I advise to you? Try to plan a trip with visit to Selge’s antique city also in the national park.
So my second off day has passed that way.
The third one was with my mother who was there for two days. We just swam and went to Kemer in the evening.
But for next Tuesday I’ll plan something really exciting, and this time I’ll write it much earlier than I did this one.
Keep reading (if there is anyone who is reading). And write to me for any comments, or questions please. This would help me to be sure of what to write.
