Europe | Ireland (Eire) | West Coast | The Ring of Kerry – Blarney Castle to The Ring of Kerry (63 miles)
This is an amazing place. The Ring of Kerry is the name given to the stunning scenic road that rims the rugged Iveragh peninsula.
It is backboned by the Macgillycuddy Reeks, and takes you through several lovely towns. There are many sandy beaches around this coastline, including the strand at Inch where Ryans Daughter was filmed. The scenery is breath taking, with waterfalls coming down the mountains by the roadside, and up in the mountains it is not uncommon for the sheep to be waking along the roadside, so drive with care.
