Europe | France | Paris – Paris with the famous Sean Driscoll
Lucky for me, my friend, Sean, from UCSB decided to come visit me in Paris from NYC. We have been having a ball together! We took the train to Labbeville for a quick visit to see a nearby castle with my cousin, Didier. Sean and I are having a ball together, laughing constantly at ourselves and each other. We went on my favorite run in Labbeville to the next village, a little under 4 miles total. It was picturesque and Sean kept saying, Oy my gosh Im going to have an orgasm! It is fall here and the leaves are all red, orange and yellows. We went to the castle at Chantilly with Didier, another place Ive been wanting to visit. Check it out www:chateaudechantilly.com I had forgotten how beautiful castles in France are…Spain’s castles pale in comparison (with the exception of the huge moorish castles in the south). Also; bc I live in SB, we dont really have seasons. Im really loving the fall, it is cold and I wear a jacket, scarf, gloves and hat everyday with no wanking about how cold it is.It is gorgeous and makes me realize how much I miss being in a city where there are distinct season changes.
I am planning on spending the next few days here in Paris visiting Maris et al, seeing a few things like the Louvre (finally), catacombs, the sewer (on Sean’s list, not sure why), and finding a proper pair of shoes. Then, Im off to the country for the last part of my trip, heaven for me. There is a wine festival in one of the nearby villages this weekend that I will go to with
Didier. Otherwise, Im ready to go back home and start figuring out where I will park myself. 9 months of travelling all around and living like a gypsy is wearing on me , Im looking forward to being in one spot with a schedule and something more normal. I miss having my own bed and space. Not to mention a boyfriend would be nice…
