Europe | France – French Medicine

So I’ve learned about Socialist medicine on this trip. Mary was sick when I got here. She is worn out from school, and after being in the rain and sniffling all the time (like everyone else in the country), she got sick. This morning her house Mom, Marie-Paule, called to see if the doctor could come see her. Doctors make house-calls here! The doctor was on vacation, but Marie-Paule found another one to come visit. Mary wanted something with penicillin in it, but he said it wasn’t that serious, and gave her a prescription for seven other things instead! It was 30€ for the visit and 19€ for the drugs, of which Marie-Paul says she will probably get back everything but 3 or 4€ from the government. Interesting system.
