Central America | Mexico | Istmo & Gulf of Mexico – So long Yucatan for a bit
You probably know that I am recounting this adventure and not reporting as it is happening. At the moment I am in San Deigo and details are fading fast, so I may do the rest of the trip in one sitting——-but there is so much to express!
A little magic happened in Merida, I think I already mentioned Cindito and I being on line at the same time, in different countries. Something new for me in this trip is the total lack of an itenery. Dick and I decided to fly in, and then follow our noses. Cindy arrived in Mexice a week before us, many miles away on the Pacific Coast. We had been in touch by e-mail but since neither of us had a solid plan as to where we would be there was no talk of rendevouse. I don’t believe in coincidence and I do believe that there is a Divine order to everything, so simply stated God was working though all of us when He/She put us at the same crossroad at aprroximatly the same time. More later.
I spent a day exploring Merida while Ricardo and four friends he met here rented a car and explored a bird sanctuary and seaside estuary, went to a cave in the middle of nowhere, and pretty much had a wonderful day for about $30. apiece (including lunch!)
It’s off to Palenque via the overnight bus tonight-I’ll attach a few pictures to this page and hopefull get another drafted and off to all you dear friends soon.
