Central America | Guatemala – Rio Dulce and Livingston, Guatemala
I arrived in Rio Dulce and decided on a nice hotel with pool, air conditioning, 2 double beds and…cable TV. I also have a deck with hammock outside my room. After roughing it in Semuc Champey, I needed a few days of more civilized accommodations. Rio Dulce is gorgeous with its green gorges, sunshine and ocean breeze. I am reminded of the Caribbean.
The food has the caribbean influence although you can find comida tipica in any comedor.
Tomorrow I will be taking a catamaran day trip to Livingston. Livingston is a small town on the Atlantic which has Guatemalans only black community left over from the days of slave labor brought over by the spaniards from Africa.
