Australasia | Australia | Queensland | Wet Tropics | Green Island – On the Great Barrier Reef
Today we took a group tour out to Green Island. This is not a true island, but a coral cay in the Great Barrier Reef. This means little ittee-bitty pieces of coral built up over lots and lots of years to create an island. From here Shelley went snorkeling and John went wading through the water. Did you know you can get prescription swim goggles? John had a manta ray swim by. Shelley saw fish and chased a green turtle. Shelley sunburned her ankles. John sunburned most of his back. In the afternoon the tour provided a glass bottom boat tour and a fish feeding. They fed the fish, we just got to watch the fish go crazy. And watch the sea gulls who have learned the routine of how to get a free meal.
