Asia | China | Yunnan Province | Dali – The Dali Prefecture Museum
It finally happened to me. I’ve never gotten sick on the road before, but too many years in the States have weakened my immunity. A peanut drink yesterday left me nauseous and crampy. According to Mom, it was mild food poisoning. The drink must have expired or improperly sealed.
I managed to get out of bed in time to send my parents off to the bus station in Xiaguan. Finally left on my own, I decided that since I was up already, I might as well just enjoy more of Dali. The Dali Prefecture Museum was a short bus ride from the bus station. I asked five locals before finding its entrace, and was rewarded by a museum all to myself. The curators apparently did not want to work, but the information on the plates under the exhibition items was enough. I sat by a marble table under a flowering vine, thinking the only thing missing was a cup of green tea.
